Sickness Vs Wellness

Modern medicine is now facing the need for a total paradigm shift in its thinking. Years of treating sickness and symptoms rather than promoting wellness and finding causes have led to an urgent need for all of us to take greater responsibility for our health. We need to move from a 'sickness and cure ' view to a 'wellness and preventing' view.

There are among other things, 13 essential vitamins required to maintain good health that generally cannot be produced in our body itself. These vitamins have to be taken in our daily diet. These vitamins can prevent diseases. These can built enough resistance in our body. These can make us better.

If one has deficiency of Iron, over a period of time, it causes anemia. This causes weakness in our body and when we approach a physician for this he prescribes us among other things Iron content. In take of the medicines gets back the iron in our body. This is curing a problem after it has occurred. Sickness is curing after a disease has occurred. - Sickness Industry

If we have good quality food which has enough quantity and quality Iron in it, we may not even have to approach a physician. As this kind of good quality food is normally out of reach, a supplement rich in iron will do. This is preventing a problem even before its occurance. - Wellness Industry

I started taking glucosamine and the pain in my knee disappeared within two months. One year later the same orthopedic surgeon asked me who had operated on me knee. When I told him about the glucosomine, he took some X-rays and asked me not to publicize my experience, as it could put him out of business. I was amazed that I, an economist, was teaching an orthopedic surgeon about glucosomine.

The wellness revolution is based on giving the body what it needs to support optimal health and quality of life.
